CAPTURING LIGHT
I took the first three photos in school in the morning, and the other three in the afternoon. The light I photographed in the first three black and white images is the sun hitting the grass and the flowers causing the flowers to have a more drastic contrast than the rest of the image. The other three photos in color are taken with sunlight hitting the water causing a gleam and the sunset reflecting off the windows of a nearby building. The composition of the photos for the black and white are natural placed as well as the three in color. They are all composition according to where the sun was hitting the object I was shooting. There are shadows that accompany all six photographs that create depth amongst the photos to highlight where the light is hitting. I think the mood of the black and white images is showing the stark contrast between the flowers and the foliage to create a urgency that the flowers are the main subject. With the three photos in color I think it creates a laid back mood of the sun setting on the object/subject and there being low contrast between the light and the shadows.
CAPTURING COLOR
BUILDING
What building did you choose? THE BUILDING THAT MY UNCLE WORKS IN, AT BACK BAY.
What is this building used for, or what was it used for? IT IS USED FOR RENT AND VARIOUS DIFFERENT SHOPS.
What shots did you take of the building? I TOOK TWO SHOTS THAT WERE ANGLED.
What did you communicate about the building? ITS WEAR AND HOW IT LOOKS AGED.
What image most conveys the personality or character of the building? THAT THE BUILDING IS OLD AND SHOWS THAT IT'S BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE THERE FOR A WHILE.

Photo Series
I took these photos in Phoenix and Gilbert, Arizona. I concentrated mainly on the plans and flowers while I was there. I photographed my friend Dylon for these pictures and theres one portrait of her in this series. I connected the highways and parking lots as a way of unifying the way all the roads in the United States connect us as a whole.
